Jupiter

Today Hank and I drove down to Jupiter. Katherine recommended we go to Blowing Rock, which we did! The tide was just coming in so the water blowing through the rocks was growing slowly while we watched.

We then drove over to the Lighthouse on the inlet. This restored 1860 lighthouse with 105 steps gave a beautiful view of West Palm Beach and Jupiter. The barracks were still there used in WWII for officiers.

Finally, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the Food Shack! Yum Yum. Another nice day in south Florida.

Good Morning

I thought this was a great picture in the morning! A view of the water, the golf course, the balloon in the air and of course, our RV.

Manatee

Today Hank and I went down to Ft. Pierce to see if the Manatee were still hanging around in the warm water. We found one and I hope you can see it. The are so gentle!
Poor little guy, over 1,000lb. had prop scars all on his back.

Fort Pierce, Florida

Hank and I drove over to Fort Pierce so we could walk along the beach. The water was very cold. Then we went out to dinner and home. Nice evening!

Port St. Lucie

Here we are at a beautiful Outdoor Resorts! We pulled in facing the golf course and a beautiful waterfall. It is in the new section and only $169,000. I don't think so!
The weather is gorgeous and we get a really nice breeze from the Ocean. Speaking of which, Hank wants to drive over there...bye

Epcot, Disneyland,Orlando

Well, here we are again, playing like two little kids! We walked the complete Epcot Center and rode plenty of rides. My favorite was Soarin! This was an exhilarating rush of free-flying hang gliding with your feet dangling. Pretty cool!Anyway, we had a good time and today we head south to Port St.Lucie.

Hank and I both got tired of cold, rain, sleet and snow so, we headed south. Our first stop was Macon, now here we are in Orlando on our way to Port St. Lucie. The child in us came out-so we are going to Epcot today @ $71.00 a ticket (phew) we better have some fun, right?? I will take a few pictures later on. Have a good Sunday, God Bless you all!

P.S. I am not going to MGM or Universal, saving this for Grandchildren time!

Here it is April 14th! Hank and I were in the basement and heard some pounding. We looked outside and what did we see? Hail, sleet and then snow!! Good Grief Charlie Brown!!

Momma Ann's BD

Hank and I went over to Momma Ann's for her BD, so did gizmo! We had krystal hamburgers & fries. Yum Yum. She opened her special present from Best Buy and had a cup cake. Happy Birthday!

Katherine's visit this weekend

What a nice weekend I had with Katherine. Friday, we went to our favorite book store, McKays. Even with all the rain we had all day, we enjoyed it! Then we came home, had dinner, watched a chick-flick, read and played Hand and foot with Hank.
Saturday was a busy day of shopping. She and I both bought new suits and she helped mom buy a few new blouses. Later, it was a pedicure for both at Walmart.
Sunday, we went to Church together, then worried about Rebecca not feeling very well the rest of the day. She ended up at the hospital with pain in her chest.
Monday, we drove Katherine down to Atlanta so she could go back to work. But we decided to make a detour to Bobby's house bring Chick-filets for lunch. We had such a great time with her. Then we drove Katherine over to the hotel and said our farewells. I am already missing her, we had a great weekend. Now, I am looking forward to going out west to see Rebecca, Jim and kids.

NewComers' bookclub

Newcomer's is such a great club. When I moved to Chattanooga I didn't know one person. They instantly became my friends. There was bridge, Mah Jongg (which I learned to play in Arizona) Coffee's, luncheons, field-trips, and many parties.
This was a book club pot lunch. Great Food! Great discussion over the book, "Same Kind of Different Like Me by Ron Hall. I think this is a great book to read."

Easter Dinner

Hank and I were so excited to get invited to Momma Ann's for Easter dinner. We were so tired of "Diet Food" for rabbits! We had a great dinner, then played with the dogs, Hanna and Hallie. It is the end of a great weekend and look forward towards next weekend with Katherine.

Dean comes home from China

After a year in China, Dean flew down from New York to visit with us over Easter weekend. Hank was very excited to see his brother. It had been a long time for both of them. We enjoyed looking at pictures of Hong Kong and China. Great to have some family around when your children are on different coast.

But I will see them very soon with Katherine next weekend and Rebecca over the summer.

Knoxville TN

We dropped our coach off at the service center in Knoxville to have some work done. In the past, bringing your coach in on Sunday night was almost like going to a big camping party. But the building you see, was empty, the drop off slot were empty... not sure if it was because of the economy or problems at BG. We missed friends like M. & D. O., J.& P. G, P. & G. C....
Well, they needed the coach for a week and we saw no reason to keep hanging around, so we gathered the pups and headed south.
As you can tell, our life is so very exciting lately.

My Mom's big BD

It was so nice to be around family again. It has a long 10 months without family gatherings for us. To be with all my sisters, Becky, Suzanne, Mary, my brother, David and especially my Mom.

Most of the grandchildren and great grandchildren were there for a big celebration.
Mom received Lorretta-the frog!! Somehow she got put away in a storage shed. Poor Lorretta!

Katherine almost didn't make it when they cancelled her flight. But she hung in there and got a late flight, but she made it.

We celebrated a wonderful BD and David made us all a CD with Photos we all collected over the years of Mom and Dad. We had pictures of her as a little girl too! Very Cute.

Well Happy Birthday Mom....we will be there for you 100th too!

On the road to Recovery

After being sick since Jan. 13, Hank and I finally are starting to feel better. This has been unbelievable. I have never had anything like this before. We are hoping to feel well enough to attend Church tomorrow.

Thanks for the prayers.

Home Sweet Home

We are truly Blessed again, Sunday night we stopped around 6pm at the Al/Miss state line rest area for a nap. We both woke up around midnight and said let's go ahead and drive. We don't like to drive at night and try to avoid it if we can. We were approximately 270 miles away. I wasn't much help driving this leg with all the coughing I was doing. But as we listened to the weather channel we were just in front of those awful thunderstorms. We received a light rain in Alabama I-20 to 59 safely home to Chattanooga.
Yesterday, I went to the Doctor to see why I was still coughing and I now have Bronchitis. Geez!! A strong cough syrup and a new antibiotic should hit this thing!!
It is really strange to walk in an empty house! Both of us laughing, no bed! So, I blew up the air mattress I bought for the Loyd's to use...how did they sleep on this thing, haha! Anyway, not an hour after we got home, our phone rang. The couple that looked at house 1 year ago, is still interested but still haven't sold their house and wants to look at it again this weekend.
We decided to get our stuff out of storage cause I did save one thing "our bed". LOL

God really has taken care of Hank and myself-we are truly Blessed.

Mill Creek Ranch RV Park & Cottage Resort

Hank and I decided to stop early for the evening just beyond Dallas in Canton, Texas.
We found this really nice resort that is only 1 year old and with the Good Sam card it was only $28. for the night. It is 200 acres and they are really planning for the future. So if anybody is driving I-20, it is a great stopping place for a day or week. Not much to do in the town, except weekend there are some flea markets.
Their website is www.millcreekranchresort.com

Las Cruces, New Mexico

Our first night on the road! After spending 3 months not driving, it took a little getting use to again. We took it easy the first day and drove to Las Cruces. We are now on our second day out, stopped at a rest area in Texas. We decided to have some lunch, put up the dish (communicate with the outside world) and have some lunch.
We don't know how far we will drive, but Monday we play to be in Dallas and catch up with some relatives.
So far, everything is back to normal...the dogs are behaving, the cat threw up this morning. It got a little motion sicknes with Hank driving I-10. The roads are gross!
We will be on I-20 before the end of the day.

The picture above is of Mexico, we are driving so close that Hank took some pictures. It looks so poor and so poluted. A yellow haze line just hangs over the city.

Take care...I will write later.

Our last night at Casa Grande

We had a great evening. Pam and Bud came by to wish us well, with a nice bottle of wine. After that, we joined Ann and Steve, Aase and Tom at Cracker Barrel. Since Aase and Tom are from Canada, they tried a couple of new Southern Things like: Okra, turnip greens and corn bread. They didn't like any of them, can you imagine that?
Then we girls challenged the guys to several games of hand and foot. The guys beat us the first set by 750 points but the second set, the girls cleaned they clock by 7000 points.
Such fun, we sure going to miss everyone!

Mar Jong

Tonight I played Mar Jong with my friends: Donna, Bev, Jane and Ann. Bev sat in tonight and learned how to play. She will be taking my place when I leave Friday with our little 4-some. There is always next year girls! Hey I even won once!

Cook E Jar

Our Friends from N.C. Peggy and Jim, came over and picked us up for lunch. They treated us to lunch at the Cook E Jar. Since Hank and I have been sick for over 2 wks.it was great getting out.

Today we went to the Cook E Jar for lunch. It is suppose to be one of the recommended places in Casa Grande to eat. It was very good!

Death by Chocolate

It was busy last night for us. We attended a play directed by a friend, Randall. The actors were residents of the park. Several of our friends were in it! It was really cute. Valarie, Ann and Pam are enjoying the evening.

On our table were chocolate candies, and you could get a chocolate latte to go with it! They really were trying to kill us.

Donna's Birthday

Last night we had a little celebration for Donna's 60th birthday! She also just completed radiation treatment for breast cancer. Thank you Lord! Prayers are awesome!
Donna and her husband-Mike are the friends that have children living in Ooltewah,Tn.
Can you believe that? We drive 2,000 miles and meet fellow Tennesseer's!

Eloy Skydiving School

Hank and I drove about 15-20miles down the road to Eloy. Their Skydiving is known all over the world especially for their wind tunnel. We watched 4 guys do all sorts of things from diving and floating, to acrobatics! The winds can reach up to 150 mph.

This is a display of a couple of guys floating around doing jumps over each other inside the wind tunnel.
It was fun watching these guys....they were really good.

The planes go up about every 30mins. taking jumpers. We watched them land right in front of us...very cool. Beautiful, clear day! Hank and I both still have our coughs, but I think we are on the road to recovery. Yeah.

Stir Crazy

Well, it has been a week since Becky and Jerry left and a week of being sick and stuck inside. I have greatly improved but Hank is still coughing and still on an antibiotic. I hope today will be a turning point for him. I went to Dr. yesterday and he ran some MORE test and will let me know results next Thursday...the night before we leave for home.
While I have been homebound, I have played next years adventure. We are going through St. Louis, Kansas and then 1 month in Colorado, 1month in Utah then to Becky's, New Mexico for Balloon Rally and return to Casa Grande for the winter!
Sounds like a plan!

Hopefully, I will have more to write about this week and the weeks to follow. I also hope the weather will be good and no snow storms to drive through.

Sicker than dogs

I got laryngitis last Sunday when Becky and Jerry arrived, it has been downhill since they left. I got this horrible deep cough, so after we dropped them off at the airport Thursday, I went to the Dr. He put me on an antibiotic for sinsus infection and a strong cough syrup for the night. Unfortunately, a week later, I still can't talk and I am still coughing all night. Now, since Friday, Hank has gotten the same thing but he has a sore throat. Why is he able to talk? He says it is a blessing that I am quiet!! We have been bed ridden for 2 days! The weather is gorgeous and I layed in the lounge chair, reading a book until I had a coughing fit and brought the neighbors out gawking!
Please keep us in your prayers...the entire resort is passing this thing around. We are among the youngest in the resort and this has hit us hard. I hope I get my voice back before Friday, my appt. with Rhymotologist. take care
