Today was Hank's birthday and we decided to do a day trip to Tortilla Flats.  We packed a picnic basket and headed northeast.  We found beautiful Canyon Lake surrounded by mountains and cactus. That sure was funny. Not like HOME, Auntie Em.

Ernesto is finally working on our wall. It looks fantastic. The pavers are getting installed today, with lights, irrigation and trees next week. During Hanks' recovery, he has enjoyed watching.

Yesterday was Hank's big day, finally. He has his knee surgery on the meniscus, and did really well.
They cleaned out all the arthritis, for now and checked for other damage, but he is doing great!
Today he has walked around the coach, with crutches and has not taken any pain pills.  He'll be ready to travel Europe in September, healthy and healed. Thanks for all the prayers.

Today was 112 and we decided to recover our kitchen chairs. With a little bit of Southwestern
look, they turned out pretty darn good.

Saturday, May 19, 2012

I had a little BOO-Boo...terrible wind storm yesterday and I went to pick up a broken pot, and it broke again and popped into my arm. Hank was gone to get MRI on knee and Steve was kind to drive me to ER. AIN't nobody else around. 11 stitches.

The Last thing of the Day, we decided to eat lunch at Wall Drug Store. Last time we were here it was
packed. I guess good timing!

The Badlands

Hank and I decided to go visit the Badlands again. It is so breath taking. The colors are awesome at
Sunrise.

rattlesnake

I was driving down a back road when we came across this rattlesnake. YUCK. He was heading
towards some horse out in a pasture and Hank told me to steer closer....OOps...dead snake.

Elk and prairie dog

I had a fun time spotting animals. The Elk were everywhere, and I was able to get the prairie dogs
to come and take cheese crackers from me . I know I know DONT FEED THE ANIMALS.
oh well.

Custer State Park

Friday after we got all our paperwork done, we took a short drive down to Custer State Park to
visit the Buffalos. They are shedding their winter coast, but look very healthy.

HART RANCH

Hank and I went to South Dakota over the weekend. One of the things we decided to do was
visit Hart Ranch. Not many people there, I guess we are early in the season. Very pretty!

TPC (Tour Profession Club) of Scottsdale

What a weekend of a lifetime! Hank took Golf lessons up in Scottsdale this weekend. He and his 3 buddies hit so many golf balls, he came home with bloody hands. He learned so much and enjoyed every minute. What an experience! Normally it is $300

to play 18 at this course. Phew....hope he enjoyed that ONE TIME THING.

Happy Anniversary!

Here we are on our wedding day. Boy, we have grown older. lol

St. Patrick's Day!

Betty and Bob had a great St. Patty's party. We had to move indoors cause a huge wind storm decided to invade us.

Great corn beef and cabbage, good music, great friends!

The Dog Agility Park

One of my job projects is getting the equipment for a Fantastic Dog Agility course. I will take a

picture Monday as the rest of equipment came in late Friday. We will have a walk, A-frame bridge, line-poles. We have got 2 great instructors. This will be a great activity to add to the Park.
We have 15 little dogs in one class and 10 big doggies in the other. Wow! And this is the end of the season.

Our Beading Club

Most of the women at starting to leave, but we still had a large group

here for Sally's class. We always have a great time getting together.

Dead-Headers Club 2012

Palm Creek survives on volunteers. The park is beautiful! There are a group of women that take care of all the flowers in the park. Here we are....in the front of the park. Ashton, the owner, designed the colorful shirts for us to wear. I think so people won't run over us while we are on the side of the street.

At quick stop at Lake Mead

Hank and I drove down to the waters edge to see how Lake Mead was holding out. It seemed to be a little higher than our last visit, a year ago. They had moved the marina over....so now it is out in deeper water. The water is still bright blue!

Saturday night in Vegas

Hank and I had tickets to go see the Blue Man Group!! I thought they were so funny.

We loved walking through the spring Gardens with flowers everywhere!! It smelled wonderful.
Fun Evening!

A weekend get a way

Hank and I arrived late Friday afternoon after a beautiful drive over to Las Vegas. After dinner, we walked over to the Billagio to see the water display and awesome Chinese New Year dragons and flowers. Beautiful.

My Job....

One of my job duties was to help Karen get ready to start a new dog agility class. She had her first 2 yesterday with great attendance.

The other was to have a lunch for 30 employees. At the last minute, my boss couldn't attend. Most are Mexicans, but with the help of the guys I am learning a little Spanish to communicate. They all seem to enjoy the food and the raffle.
