Phoenix, Oregon

Hank and I finally got on the road today! We are staying at a really nice campsite on a River. We are going to catch up on laundry etc...since we have been dry-camping (which meant no water, electric or sewer) for several days.
Shaun Davis did a really nice job on our cabinets and we are really happy with the extra space it provided.

We will rest up a couple of days then be heading towards Carson City, Nevada. We will be there about 2wks visiting Rebecca,Jim,Ansley and Gabe.

I will have more pictures then. Have a great Labor Day Weekend. Bye

MR. Moon

Hank and I got up at 4:30am to go see the eclipse of the moon. It was a gorgeous morning, not a cloud in the sky. I am not sure you can see it! But I promise it was beautiful.

:)

The Hanna Gold Club

We had a wonderful time at the service center and met alot of new and old friends. We were parked next to a special couple, Lamont & Georgann Davis. They have been full-timers for 5 years. They gave us alot of pointers and shared many experiences with us. We will miss them, but I am sure our paths will cross again whether in SC. or Arkansas, or maybe back here next year!?

Take care.

Albany, Oregon Balloon Rally

Good Morning!
Hank and I got up around 5am and drove about 30miles up the road to Albany, Oregon to see a lift off of about 50 balloons. It was pretty neat! Watching the flame shoot
up into the air, watching all the beautiful colors on display against the blue sky and rising sun. It is 7:30 and we are back home, parked at Camp Monaco wondering what else we can get into today.! Talk later

Still at Camp Monaco

While I was at a tupperware party in the customer service lounge, Hank was taking a nap in the nice cool grass, under a tree with the puppies. I don't think I have been to a tupperware party since the 70's. I couldn't believe they still have them. It was fun. We should be done by tomorrow, but who knows. Better go find my jacket it is getting cold...brrrrrrr

Camp Monaco

This morning Hank and I ran errands, like Walmart and the Bank. When we came back to the service center, it was like a reunion. Our first visit to Buddy Gregg's in Knoxville,Tn., we met several couples. Gary and Patsy, Marie and Dave, and the only ones missing were Peggy and Jim. Hopefully, very soon they will be on the road full timing with the rest of us. Anyway, here we are again, all of us getting repairs. We had a nice afternoon, sitting in Customer Service comparing complaints. (haha)

Anyway, what a gorgeous day...we love the weather out here. Talk tomorrow.

Coburg, Oregon

Today Hank and I got off to a busy start. We went to Cummins' and they cleaned our engine and put a dye in it to see if they can find a oil leak. We think it got resolved at the Rally, but we wanted the engine clean anyway. Better safe than sorry later (when out of warranty).
Next we went to the Monaco Service Center, registered for our tomorrow appt. and met a nice couple, Mary and Bob, from California. Together we drove down to the factory plant and watched how the built our Dynasty. We went from welding the frame, all the way to the finished coach waiting to be delivered. That was very cool.
We are now back at service center, waiting in the holding area, dry camping again until tomorrow. Then they will move us, hopefully, to a camping spot, then finally start repairing our little list of repairs.

We weren't allowed to take pictures today, but it was very neat.
Talk tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to Hank

Sunday, August 19, 2007 Happy Birthday Hank.

We woke up to a raining cool Sunday morning! Hank wondered where his coconut cake was? As you know, Mama Ann makes him one every BD. NOT ME! He got a coconut pie from the Fresh Market. He opened all this cards...Thanks everyone!
We thought we would watch Drag racing and be lazy.

Have a great Sunday, love you guys!

Sister's Oregon

Hank and I got off to a little bit of a rough start this morning. We pulled out and hooked up the car to find out we didn't have any lights. You can imagine, some people were impatient with us wanting to get out of the rally. With some jiggling of wires, Hank manage get our lights working. Then we got weighed, ut oh, to much weight on the right side, so we swapped seats (haha) that didn't help either. I guess we are going to have to rearranged our basement.
We drove through Sister's, a wonderful, quaint town. The road winds over and around the mountain next to a sparkling river. The picture is of a one lane bridge that crosses that river. Very Beautiful!
We arrived at Diamond Hill and went down the road to check out the Monaco Factory. The lot was filled with RV'ers from the rally. I do hope we will have a spot come Tuesday.
Anyway, hope everyone has a nice, cooler weekend. The windows have been opened and temperature around 65 with a breeze. Man it is nice here. Talk later.

Tony Orlando Concert

Last night we went to the last concert of the week, it was fabulous. Tony was hysterical! He came down in the audience, pulled people on stage, even a little boy jumped up to dance with him (he had the moves too)! They played a little late, but who cared nobody was in a hurry.
We are up at 6am as usual watching all the RV's moving out. We have an appointment this morning to weigh our coach to see how much "stuff" we have accumulated. I thought we were rid of stuff when we had our garage sales! OH WELL.
Anyway, then we head over to Diamond Hill where our coach was manufactured. There we will stay for a little while. They will go over our punch list for our not so new coach (anymore). Then California here we come, then finally Carson City,Nev. where I can't wait to see Ansley and Gabe, my grandbabies! YEA.

I will post a picture of last night later...we have to take a shower with the last of our water...dry camping is hard and I am sooooooo spoiled.

Debbie Boone Concert

Last night we attended the Debbie Boone Concert, we were so dissappointed we left early. She was doing a farewell concert to Rosemary Clooney, her mother-in-law. It was elevator type music and the crowd needed something to wake them up, not put them to sleep.
The buses were lined up to take people home so we caught the only bus available to drop us near to our parking space. What a party group!!! It was an exciting ride home. Much more fun than the concert.

Tonight, Tony Orlando is performing...then we hit the road Friday morning!

It is early Thursday morning, I am hearing RV's pulling out on the lower pasture.

Hope everyone is well and I will write soon. NO MORE work sessions.!!!

FMCA Rally, Redmond, OR.

Hank took this picture at sunrise of some of the coaches and the snow top covered mountains. We are having cool mornings and warm afternoons. Very nice weather. We look to have a busy week with the new friends and things to do at the rally.

Redmond,Oregon

We arrived safely, the drive was gorgeous with streams flowing heavily along the roadside and mountains all around up. We climbed as high as 4800. Hank and I each drove about an 1hr.

We arrived and there were probably already 1000 coaches here. From the looks of things they will probably have 5-6000. Being in a caravan has its advantage, we get to be with other Monaco Coaches and we got to come in the gate before tomorrow. Hank and I walked around and got the lay of the land.
We have great couples on both sides of us. Tony and Bobby have been full timing for 5 years and are from Nevada. I took a tour of her coach tonight and I think I will be redecorating this week. (haha)

I will be having a busy week but will try and post when I can. There are maybe 200 seminars I can attend, so I probably will be walking alot! Take care, later.

Salem, Oregon

Hi Everyone! We have had a wonderful time here in Salem. We are now lined up with 150 other coaches to head over the mountains to Redmond,Oregon. We are #19 in line.
Still being on Eastern times has it advantages, we still get up at 5am.

I will write shortly after we arrive to let you know how it went.

Salem, Oregon

Today we had our MotoSat dish installed on our coach. It was a neat installation and we now have satellite internet. It is going to be much faster internet service to keep up with everyone. The installers, Bill and Janet Adams, came highly recommended from everyone we met on the road. Now we can surf in style.

Long Beach, Washington

Today we drove to Long Beach, Washington. It was about a hour drive from home and it was a steamy 63 degrees when we got there. It was a great day for swimming and you can see me taking a dip in the Pacific Ocean. It is strange for us to have been on the east coast at the first of summer and now on the west coast. We had lunch at a local fish house. We had fish and chips with a little clam chowder. A great scenic day trip.
