Busy day in Casa Grande

This morning I started out at 11 am playing volleyball. The Volley Vipers are doing great! We are the number one team and there aren't many games left to play. We really have been the come back kids! Kids! LoL.

Hank then made Christmas cookies and a ginger bread cake for dessert. We will carry it over to Bob & Marlene's for dinner later.

This afternoon, we went to the ballroom and sang Christmas Carols. We had hot chocolate and cookies.

This evening we will be eating with Friends at B & M. (to be continued.)...We had some great Halibut from Alaska that Rod caught. Jean made dinner and it was great!

Then it was the Pegs and Jokers, couples tournament. We had alot of fun playing this.

Farewell Sweet Gizmo

Sometimes God's Blessing aren't what you have planned. As you know, Gizzy would have been 18 years old next month. Hank was expecting to return from Chattanooga tomorrow.
Gizzy couldn't wait. Last night around 2pm. she started really struggling. I took her to the Vets. at 8am. She was a wonderful pet and had traveled many miles, over 30,000. She will be greatly missed. Good-bye Gizmo!

Farewell Hank

Finally, I got Hank delivered to the airport and I am free as a bird. (lol) I came home went to Yoga, took Buddy for our long walk, did grocery shopping, then off to Volleyball. Home for a quick dinner, then I went to play Pony Canasta with my new partner (Kathy).

After a great sleep, I am off and running at 6am. April is here for my consultation. She is going to be my personal trainer, hopefully to help me build up some upper body strength. I really lost alot of strength after that back surgery.

Then Volleyball Leaque at 11 am. Did I mention, it is freezing this morning, in the 30's? Yikes!!

Who knows what I will do after that????

Anyway keep that thought. Love you. MOM

Farewell to our friends

Debbie and Doug headed out Friday morning. I went back to my regular routine. Volleyball League was at 11:ooam. I wasn't feeling so hot today even though our team won 5 games. After loosing the first 4 games, we are on the longest winning streak they have ever had "12" wins! Awesome.

Well Friday night I went down hill coughing myself to death. I actually pulled out our new sofa bed and blew up the air mattress. It is really comfortable and ready for company. But tonight it was all mine! I watched TV and Coughed all night. First thing Sat. morning I went over to the Dr.'s. Wearing my newly purchased MASK so I won't get anything worse and save some sick person from getting my junk. Amazing how many people were afraid of me. Anyway, I have bronchitis with a temp. of 102. I was given an antibiotic and cough syrup with codeine. Saturday, Hank went to a fish fry without me he called to check on me he said I have, " a little tickle in my throat". So, all day Sunday and Monday Hank had layed in our bed coughing and coughing. Until finally someone had to take to Dogs out to potty. The Golf cart came in handy because I was really weak. My fever broke Sunday and feel much better. But I wasn't able to Coach my team today in Volleyball. The still won all 4 games!!YeA!

We are supppose to go to Bob and Marlene's for Thanksgiving but I gave them a head up just in case this "Palm Creek Crud" lingers. I am so hungry for real food instead of jello, soft boiled eggs, ginger ail, soups (all kinds).

My house has been lysoled, cloraxed and germs thrown away! We will be well by Weds.

Hanks' Quilt

Hank's quilt is coming along. New week he will be sewing all the cut squares together. This quilt is called a "toss 9" because those squares of 9 will be cut, tossed and re-sewed back together. Cool huh?

Low Country Boil

Last night a great dinner. Shrimp, corn, sausage, potatoe & onions, fried corn bread, and dessert. Boy, you put a lot of Southerns together and you get a great feast and great friends.

Buddy, had a bad day and ended up at the Vets and is on medication again. Poor baby.

Thursday was a busy day

Our Golf Cart arrived today, so Debbie and I went for a couple of drives around the park, Buddy loved it.
Debbie and I also went to Yoga/Pilates class. We learned to lift weights properly expecially with back problems. I enjoyed April so much I hired her to become my personal trainer for the next couple of months to help strenghten some of those weaken muscles since surgery. I am excited.

Water Volleyball

I don't know if you guys are aware, but I am Captain of one of the Volleyball Teams.
Volley Vipers! We are tied with 10 wins. There are 8 on a team with 6 playing and rotating on the serves. This is a picture a friend took on me playing. I am usually the one taking the pictures. You notice I have to wear a vest. My metal gets really cold in the water.

Saturday, a bunch of us went to the BBQ festival. We tasted briskets, ribs, pork...so much I thought we wouldn't fit back into the cars.
Pam, Bud, Donna, Mike, Ann, Steve, Hank and myself enjoyed a cold beer after all the food. It was a very enjoyable day.

Thursday

Hank and I both had a busy day. He is working on his lap quilt. Then played golf with the guys afterwards. I went shopping then played volleyball. Last night cocktails over at Ronnie's then we went to dinner at Nancy's. She introduced us to new friends, and we revisited Craig and Debbie. The girls all knew Hank from the sewing room. They All know Hank!
We had a great time. These guys all fly remote control airplanes. That got Hanks attention. Great night.

Happy Birthday Jim

As you get older, I notice we do some silly things. Marlene bought us all BD hats to wear for Jim's BD. Peggy did a great job cooking dinner, the rest of us supplied, Baked beans, pototoe salad, carrot cake.
Happy Birthday JIM

Today, Hank goes in around 8:30 for his first sewing lesson. Good luck

An Evening with Friends

Yesterday, our friend Ronnie smoked a pork all day and shared with friends. We all brought something to contribute. There was potatoe salad, green salads, slaw, baked beans, and all kinds of desserts. We had a great time socializing and meeting new friends.
After dinner, several went up and played pickleball.

Tucson Monaco Rally

Yesterday Hank and I followed Bob and Marlene down to Tucson to check out the Monaco Rally. They sold over 17 coaches. That is great news especially for Monaco. We met up with Peggy and Jim and had lunch at a Mexican Rest.
Always great time with old friends.

Happy birthday MONA.

Daily Activity

You know I won't bore you blogging the same ole stuff for the next six months but Hank and I decided to sell our home when we return in April and hit the road. So, I am sure there will be some exciting adventures in the near future. Meanwhile, this is a picture of us playing volleyball.

Ladies Day Out

Diane invited a group of women, Pat, Sherry, Nancy and Lillie to go bathing suit hunting in Apache Junction. We got some great deals, suits at $14.95. We all play volleyball everyday, so we really needed them. We enjoyed a great lunch then a shopping spree at Costco's. What fun we had!

Happy Birthday Marlene

We arrived a little late for Marlene's BD, but we decided to make a Pegs and Jokers cake for her anyway. The little pegs matched Marlene's pink, Bob's orange.
Hank smoked a pork, and make some really HOT popppers.

Happy birthday Marlene!!

Palm Creek

Even though we arrived at Palm Creek earlier than normal, the place is popping with activity. I have played water volleyball 2 days in a row. There are muscles hurting which I didn't know I had. We have walked the parked and ridden our bikes.
Tues. night we went to Bob and Marlene's and played pegs and jokers.
Gotten flu shots! Picked up mail and done all the normal boring stuff (lol).

I am hoping Deb and Doug make a special hand delivery next month and visit for awhile.

I probably won't write as often but will facebook.

I will post the abnormal things!!

Bass Pro Shop

Hank and I have been staying across the road from the Bass Pro shop, we decided last evening to take a walk through the store. Wow! This is one of the biggest I have been through. I did a little shooting, shopping, checked out "future boats," watched the fishes. This place was really entertaining.

We are leaving Vegas today for Arizona.

Downtown Vegas

Last night we went to downtown Vegas. This is a view of Freemont Street looks and the video is just a tiny bit of the show shown on the ceiling every hour. We both won at gambling last night and came home winners. We attended Sunday School and Church this morning and everyone "re-welcomed" us back for our annual visit.

Imperial Palace, Flamingo, Caesar's Palace

Today Hank and I went to see the fantastic cars at the Imperial Palace, then strolled down to the Flamingo to see guess what? "Flamingos"
Then over to the shops in Caesar's Palace..we ran into Pete Rose signing bats and balls, he looks so OLD.

Red Rock Canyon

Yesterday was a challenge for me! We went hiking in the Red Rock Canyon. We did 3 easy trails and my new back handled it all. It was beautiful day! The weather was perfect. We had a enjoyable picnic on one of the trails.

Night life on the strip

Hank and I walk, walk and walk. We have gone down to New York-New York, MGM. We went shopping throughout the different casinos.

Las Vegas-this is our home for a week

Well our first day in Vegas is very relaxing. "The White Ghost" went swimming for about an hour. Then the two of us rode our bikes around the park. This is the first time on my bike since my surgery. I've always heard, "it's like riding a bike, just hop back on there." (lol)
Later we went to the strip and walked through Rio and Gold Coast. Neither of us had been in either casino. We didn't loose to much money!

We are up early again before 5am...when will our bodies change time? We have already walked the perimeter of the park and it isn't even 7am. Geez

Hank and I awoke at 4:30 again this morning, so we decided to go to IHOP for breakfast on the other side of the Colorado River in Arizona. These were a couple of pictures with a beautiful sunrise. Off to Vegas this morning!!

Laughlin at night

The campground we are staying at has 752 campsites. It is on the side of a hill and we are on the top looking down on the city. It is a very pretty site seeing the buildings glowing in different colors. Mr Moon was even showing off tonight over the city. Hank went outside to get a bunch of pictures and these are just a few of them.

Laughlin Classic Car Museum

Tonight Hank and I went over to the Riverside Casino. Upstairs we found a neat car museum...thought we would share some phone pictures.
