McKinney, Texas MCD

Yesterday we decided to take a different route and go I-30, it just happens to be really close to McKinney, Texas. We dropped by to see Jim & Peg and guess who else was here? Dave & Marie, so we were talked into staying overnight. We went to dinner at a great Pub-the food was really good. After dinner, the 4 of us played P & Jokers.
I am beginning to get a complex..the big L on my forehead.
After seeing all the cool electric shades, Hank and I really want to do them but can't find the time this trip so....we will just have to come back for another visit Peg & Jim. Thanks for spending the time with us, see you again.

The End of the Year Volleyball Season

Last night we had our Volleyball dinner. The food was awesome! For the Winter Season, Lillie's team the Volley Vipers came in first with over 49 wins, 11 losses, with an awesome coach.(l0l)
The Fall Season, my new team, Over the Top... pulled out the win in the last 2 weeks, with 43 wins-winning by only 4 games. It has to be the FOL that pushed my players in that last game when we were 7 down. What is FOL (Fear of Lillie)! Until next year my friends...I will miss you. You have all been such an encouragment and patient with me during my healing, and very supported while I pushed you..."Call the Ball" "Stay near the net" "keep the ball in play" "Stay in your area"!
Until next year!

The Dessert Museum

Wow...the rain really increased the beauty of the dessert. All the cacti were blooming and flowers, the birds were plentiful, the bees were carrying pollen.
I even got close enough to a couple of day old hummingbirds (hope you can see, double click top right picture). Can you see Momma feeding babies? Plus the dessert animals!

Just enjoy spring with me by viewing the pictures and thanking God for what he has created for us to enjoy.

Seeing ole friends again.

After 3 years, we finally were able to hook up with my good friends Georgann and Lamont. We first met them at "Camp Monaco" in 2007. We have talked over the years, tried to hook up but finally the last couple of days we have been able to visit. We even took a side trip to Tucson to see the Dessert Museum. I really enjoyed our time together and look forward to our next reunion.

Last Supper

We went over to Bob and Marlene for a great dinner. She out did herself. We said our farewells for this year. We will miss you, Scout and P & J. Take care of my plant.
Love you guys

(btw..she is squatting, while I can't bend...lol...and with the extra 1 1/2 inches I grew, I look like a tree.)

A Beautiful walk through the park.

Hank and I have been doing daily walks through the park, this was such a beautiful view, I thought I would share.
The cactus are in bloom, the flowers are gorgeous and it is in the 80's. Wow.
God is great in his creations, isn't he?

Harrah's casino and dairy farm

Hank and I drove to Maracopa to see what people were talking about this little town.
Establish 2000, in the middle of the desert, all we could find was a casino. So, we dropped by to check it out. They gave us $15 each for slots, and 2 buffet dinners ($19 ea.)
After a short time at the slots, and each of us winning, we walked away $80 richer and the dinner. Wow! We didn't even spend any of our money.
Wonderful drive and we did see a huge dairy farm, with cows as far as you could see, in the desert!

Happy Anniversary #4

What a great way to celebrate another year! Hank smoked a pulled-pork, we invited about 20 people to share, baked beans, corn dish, salad, slaw, deviled eggs, shrimp, Texas cake, yum yum. We had a wonderful time. Thanks again Tracy for encourging Hank to have that 2nd date with me...I know I have made his life more interesting!
God has truly blessed us both.

Time Out

Sometimes one of our players, needs to sit in Time out when they get a little excited. This was one of the times...Lee had to put on a St. Patty's hat and relax a minute.

Regional/Division NJCAA Championship

Last night we went with about 10 of our friends to the Championship playoffs. These women from Central Arizona College haven't lost a game in 2 years. Last night was no exception. They won! Now they go to Kansas for the Nationals! We had a great time with friends (who have gone all year) we just saw the last game. It was exciting with great defense on both team and the lowest score all year. One young lady shot atleast 6 3-pointers.

Lawn Bowling

My husband has really been going out of comfort zone. Today, he went with 2 friends, (Canadians) Bonnie and Gibson to learn how to play Lawn Bowling. This is very popular in our park with the Canadians.
These is the one where they wear total whites when they play! Today was just for learning. I also rolled a few and listened in, but I can't find time in my day to play something else!

Horseshoes?

Hank and I wanted to start tossing horseshoes, and followed the noise of the clanking shoes hitting the post. There we found Verna and Lee. They each took one of us and instructed us on the rules, scoring and how to toss correctly.
From my childhood days with family, we just threw them praying we would get close enough to beat our Dad.
Lee ordered us our own pair of shoes! Cool. We figured in the evenings at all these campgrounds we could practice tossing and might improve to be acceptable to play at PC next year.
