Day with Hank's Family

Saturday we went down to Marietta to be with Hank's family, Davy, Marnie, Aiden and Nolan and his brother Dean (from New York). We had great food, played pickleball in the driveway, sorry and the Wii. We also watched Nolan practice for the Allstar baseball games in a couple of weeks.
Great day except for Buddy became really sick with 104 temp. after a lot of testing and my suggestion of Valley Fever. He researched and tested Buddy and sure enough. It is a fungus that takes 6 months to grow. He is very critical yesterday and today but after getting Human medicine, I already see alittle improvement. He ate hamburger and rice this morning. He has lost 3lbs (which he could loose). Poor guy. I will keep ya'll informed. Later.

Graceland

Annie and I decided to do a day at Graceland. We toured Elvis's airplanes, his cars, his mansion then a small tour of him in the Army. It was an all day affair and I was exhausted when we returned.
The house was kinda tacky, shag carpet of the 60's, furniture too! It was like everything there stood still.

Later in the evening when went out to eat, then a last card game fix before we all go seperate ways.

We had such a great time, Ann and Steve were great HOST! Thank you.

Beale Street

Today we decided to go to Beale Street. Very touristy! We ate at the Rendezvous. More Pork!
After that we went for a walk to burn those calories. We stopped in the Peabody Hotel, the place where the ducks come down the elevator into the Lobby and hang out in the fountain until dinner time. Very cute.

We listened to music played on the BB King and Louis Armstrong square.

Memphis in May

We started the afternoon off by stopping by a local BBQ place,The Pork Shop, to try a different restaurant. Ron, Ann, Steve, Hank and myself had a great time and some great food. We even had BBQ spaghetti. It seems they BBQ everything here.
Memphis in May is one of the Largest BBQ cooking contest in U.S. Row after Row of people using their smokers cookin' pork. Everything from Ribs, loins to whole hogs.
The smoke was everywhere, including on yourself. Of course we did a little testing whenever we could. I even tested several for People Choice award.
Each contestant has decorated their place, set up their cookers, then had a party.
It was like Spring break in Florida, a huge beer party.
My favorite was the Mess Tent from Mash. It had a distillery in the corner that looked just like Hawkeyes! Very cute.
The Mississippi River was overflowing the banks...very fun to watch the barges go by.

Senior Olympics

Today up in Athens, Tennessee my partner-Pat and I entered the Senior Olympics in Pickleball. It is a very new sport in Tennessee, this is the first time pickleball had been played. Pat and I won the gold, or first place for our age bracket.
Hank didn't play, but came as my cheerleader and photographer.
We had a really great time.
