Happy Birthday to Lillie

Mamma Ann was so great tonight for my birthday dinner. She made a chicken casserole, beans, biscuits, salad, and for desert....banana pudding. Boy, are we stuffed!!
I got some cute chimes, flashlight and a book.

Thanks Mamma Ann for a great supper.

P.S. I have already had a midnight banana pudding snack.

Spongebob Squarepants

Where has the week gone? Today we celebrated Aiden's 3rd Bd. We had a really good day with all his cousins playing on the trampeline, helping Dad cook hamburgers, sitting with Grand-dad, retrieving his talking balloons, eating cake and knocking down squarepants filled with candy. What a big day! Lucky Hank gets to be with his grandson....mine are way over in Nevada. I miss mine. I guess we are going to have to get back on the road SOON.

Sunday at the Races

Sunday, we all woke and went to RFC (Racers for Christ) chapel. We had a nice service. Then breakfast in the Lucas tent, yum yum. Then it was time for preparing for the first round. While they were all working, Hank and I went hunting the Sunday TV Show by ESPN for NHRA races. We found them, and watched for awhile. Very Cool.

When we returned to the trailer, it was race time. The wait was intense and exciting all at the same time. But when we got to the line it started to rain. We had to turn around and head back to the trailer to wait. Finally, the rain delay is over and we head back to the line. Green light, she was gone and she won! Karen was now in the second round. Later lined up and ready to make her second pass, it was so close, but she lost.

They were able to complete all the races but then it started raining cats and dogs.
Karen and Gary had to catch a flight back to Nevada, so around 10:00 pm after the bikes had been loaded, tents taken down, and RV all loaded they headed down to the Atlanta Airport.

Boy they have long weekends.Hank and I are so worn out from all the excitement! It was a truly amazing weekend. We can scratch this off our bucket list. Debbie and Doug we can't thank you enough for your hospitality and generosity. Awesome! Thanks!

Happy Birthday to Us

We are celebrating 3 birthdays, Karen, Lillie and Debbie!!

Happy Birthday Girls..

Saturday at the Races

Today began with qualifying at 11:00am. After four runs, Karen is in the 4th spot. Thats pretty good. We have had an incredible time! I think Hank is going to be hard to live with after this. Doesn't he look like a real pro?
I have just finished making a cake to celebrate Debbie, Karen and my BD all coming up in the next few weeks. Happy birthday Girls!

Friday evening at the races

Later in the evening, it was time for the second qualifying round of the day. She dropped a little to third place with another 6.91. Two other bikes ran a quicker 6.88 and a 6.87. Karen is doing great.

Then Greg took Hank for a special treat, we went to the starting line to watch the top fuel and funny cars. We stood on the line to watch Morgan Lucas in Top fuel take a first place too.

Hank also had fun talking with Antoine Brown, who also races top fuel.

What an exciting day, what will tomorrow bring??

Friday at Atlanta Races

Our morning started off with the women going to "Races for Christ", we had a nice little group and enjoyed our morning.

Next, it was to put on our team shirts. Hank was like a kid in the candy store. We then received our special tickets, Free Credentials to go anywhere in the track.

We headed down to the pit to watch Greg and Gary get the bike ready, then off to the starting line we went. Karen ended up in 1st place the first qualifying round with a 6.91.

Thursday at the track

Thursday, Hank and I just helped wherever they needed us. Hank helped put together scooters called Kymco. This one had a 150cc engine. I wouldn't mind having one of these...but Hank asked how I would get it home? (Take out the passenger seat and push it back in the hallway.) Duh!
Talk about tight quarters, the red semi truck belongs to Steve Johnson team, boy they were touching the awning as they pulled in, we had to watch carefully.
Debbie and I did a little shopping, got gas for the bikes, ran errands around the pits in her golf cart. I helped Debbie cook for 10 last night, great food, great company.Later

Karen Stoffer's hang out and pits

Today Hank worked along side of Gary and Greg putting the tent together and awning out. They sat up some tables and we ate Sonics for lunch. For dinner, I had put on a crock pot of chili and seven layer Mexican dip for snacking.

It is chilly in the morning and late at night. During the day, the sun is out but is very windy. Hopefully, for the races this weather will hold.

FYI..this is the track for one of our first dates, my first drag race. I am excited to return.

There are 5 of us parked together on a hill overviewing the track. Very cool.

Atlanta NHRA races

Hank and I drove to Commerce, Ga. for an exciting week of races. We have met up with Karen Stoffer's team, Doug & Debbie, Greg, and Gary. We are parked in a pasture for last night and this morning, and will move to a nicer pasture later in the day.
We are really going to see the life of the racers and their team.

I know I will have some great pictures later in the week. Later Gator!

PEO

Today some of the girls had to go over to the Church to get ready for a Party tomorrow. We had fun ironing all the table cloths, setting up, making it purrrty for tomorrow.

Seems like I party alot, huh?

Yoga Class

I will not provide you with a physical picture of me...but want you to use your imagaination.

This is my second class, 2 hours each...this ole lady is on her mat, bending like a pretzel with her legs crossed, hands underneath her knees, with palms up...trying to look like a flower. (laughing)
I kept rolling around and falling down, like a rolly-polly. It was so funny.

Boy, did I work up a sweat but very relaxing too.

Namaste-a greeting out of respect and thank you!

Pickleball on Wednesday

Well all you pickleball fans....guess what got started in Chattanooga? Yes, pickleball! It is played inside, so it is very different and noisey. They have 3 courts set up and probably 15-18 people have showed up on Weds. afternoon. It is growing. Kelly, the director, is now having it on Monday, Weds. and Thurs.
We have a great time and we both have needed the exercice.

Today, there is another city, Cleveland having their first day of playing but with only 1 court. Again inside!! Can't wait to get back to Palm Creek.

Purim Party

Life here at home in Tennesse seems so boring after being on the road for 2 years.
I haven't written much, obviously, I will try to do better. April 1st. was Ansley's birthday, she is now 7...boy I miss them in Nevada.
I celebrated with friends at Church, a Purim Party. We just finished reading and studying ESTER. So, you will have to read to know what this party is all about.

We had a great time what a movie, eating popcorn, cake, Haman's ears (???) again from Ester. The Queen in the picture is Anita, she was the Leader of the study.

Thanks for a great 10 weeks.
